Hello all...

I'm seeing the same problem as volker.

I'm using MT (1.0-build1615) - running on BT5.1 in a VM, but I have 2G of RAM configured.

root@bt:~# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 2062524 1251988 810536 0 64168 612648
-/+ buffers/cache: 575172 1487352
Swap: 916476 0 916476

I'm just trying 'uname -a' similar to volker but getting no joy.

Full error:
root@bt:~# JarClassLoader: Warning: Null manifest from input stream associated with: lib/MagicTree/XMLWriter.pm

I've tried running with -Xmx to increase the amount of RAM used (I think?) but it didn't help.

Thanks!

Thanks for the bug report, I will try to reproduce the problem again. Could you please tell me which exactly BT VM image are you using: KDE or GNOME? 32 or 64 bit? Have you got the image from BT website or installed yourself from ISO?

Hi it is this version from the BT website:

Name: BT5R1-GNOME-VM-32.7z
Size: 1606
Flavor: GNOME
Arch: 32
Image: VMWare
Download: Direct
MD5: 9cfafcdbb10ffd3fa7f7c9fe4fd1de06

So it is the 32-bit Gnome version of BT5R1, VMware image.

Ok, we have a workaround for this problem: wipe out ~/.magictree/bin directory and restart MT. There supposed to be no user-modifiable files under this directory, so this operation is safe.

The problem itself is caused by some files not being overwritten during the upgrade. This is a bug and it needs to be fixed. I first run MT bundled with Backtrack (beta version) and then try running build 1615, I get the exception similar to yours. There is no problem if I try running build 1615 on fresh VM or if I wipe out ~/.magictree directory before running MT.

However, same problem will prevent XSLT and possibly other useful files from being updated correctly. So right now to get the most recent version of all files you need to backup any files you have modified under ~/.magictree (XSLT, report templates), wipe ~/.magictree directory, run MT, and place the files back under ~/.magictree.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks - that has fixed the problem.
I only had a few modified templates so removing .magictree was a simple solution.
Will have to try MT 1.1 now!

Hi there - it is this version:

Name: BT5R1-GNOME-VM-32.7z
Size: 1606
Flavor: GNOME
Arch: 32
Image: VMWare
Download: Direct
MD5: 9cfafcdbb10ffd3fa7f7c9fe4fd1de06

So the 32-bit Gnome VMware image of BT5R1.

Java is /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/bin/java.
